Clearer pricing logic in the online store: net or gross – your choice

To make price management clearer and more consistent throughout the entire purchase process, the Voog online store now offers the option to choose whether product prices are entered as net or gross prices.

The selected price entry mode determines how prices entered in the store are interpreted — this applies equally to products and shipping methods. This allows you, as a merchant, to choose the approach that suits you best and keep pricing consistent across the entire store.

In addition to the price entry mode, the Voog online store now offers greater flexibility when creating discounts. For fixed-amount discount codes, you can now specify whether the discount is applied to the net or gross price. This makes it possible to configure campaigns and special offers more precisely, without having to change the store’s overall pricing logic.

From the customer’s perspective, the purchasing process remains simple and clear. The gross price — that is, the price the customer actually pays, including VAT — is always displayed in the shopping cart and at checkout. Regardless of whether you use net or gross price entry, the customer always sees the final price clearly and unambiguously.

The online store’s price entry mode can be changed in the Store information view, where you can choose between net prices (default) or gross prices.

However, it’s important to keep in mind that changing the price entry mode affects all prices in the store, including product and shipping prices, and existing prices are not converted automatically. Therefore, after making the change, it is strongly recommended to review and update prices as needed.

Choosing between net and gross pricing gives you more control over your store’s pricing and helps ensure that the final price shown to customers is always clear, logical, and transparent.
